Whitepapers, reports, and eBooks rarely come for free — well technically they do in that you don’t have to pay for most of them, but you do need to supply your name and contact details to the producer of the report and then you become a lead for that company.

It’s how our ecosystem works — publishers charge to distribute content to support their publications and events, the originating vendor pays the publisher to distribute the content and in return receives your contact information as a “lead”. Most of the time it’s pretty painless for everyone and you end up with great content.

We do not monetize this information unless a vendor has specifically sponsored something on our site (which will be noted), the download forms that you fill out have been created by the content originator or original publisher and they will receive your contact information.
